There are some weeks that I absolutely love my job. This past week was certainly one of those weeks. After a busy week of senior portraits and a wedding I traveled down to Crisfield to catch the Capt. Jason boat sailing to Smith Island for Caleb’s senior portraits. I knew that it was going to be an all-day portrait session, but I wasn’t prepared for the hospitality that I was shown while taking his portraits. I travled over on the boat with his Grandmother and felt like part of the family after the 45min cruise. When I arrived we did his yearbook portrait then took our time exploring the island and capturing a few casual shots. We did some baseball portraits where at points I could feel the ball flying past me at who knows what speeds. Fast enough to be in awe of Caleb and his talent. We stopped to eat a wonderful dinner of crab cakes and then headed out in the skiff to catch a few shots at sunset. We live in one of the most picturesque places in this country and I was counting it a blessing to be in the midst of such beauty. We headed back to the house for coffee and chocolate/chocolate homemade Smith Island cake. I was in heaven. Buddy, Caleb’s dad brought me back to the mainland in his crabbing boat to end a fantastic day.
Caleb, Laura, Buddy, and Haley,
Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph Caleb’s portraits. I hope that I met and exceeded your expectations. You certainly blew mine away with your hospitality and your outpouring of friendship. I wish Caleb success this year in school and in his search for a college and also his time on the mound. It was a pleasure meeting you all, by the end of the day it really felt like I was part of the family. Thank you for inviting me and for the ride home on the boat. I had a great time with ya’ll. Here are some sneak peeks for you to look at while I get his previews ready. Enjoy! Oh…and Haley it was nice seeing you as well. Thanks for spending the day with us as we dragged you around for Caleb’s portraits.
