I met up with my Senior Team at Assateague National Park for this shoot to celebrate Independence day. Beautiful day, the beach, fun, and friends, what else you could ask for. I am thankful for the freedoms that we have and for the simple pleasure of being with people and getting to capture moments and experiences with others. Enjoy your July 4th holiday.
National dance day comes but once a year and that’s sad when you have such an exceptional dancer in front of your camera. I got to spend a lovely afternoon with Liz as she showed me around her dance studio where she does Ballet, tap, and a few others types of dance. She is graceful and so fun to photograph. The natural light poured in through the large windows in this historic building in the heart of downtown Salisbury. It could not have been a more delightful setting to capture her senior portraits. I love getting to capture my seniors doing something they love and this girl loves dance…I hope that comes through in these images. Enjoy the sneak peeks….can’t wait for your beach session in a few weeks.
Over the years I have had seniors that I have photographed that have had “special” moments with celebrities. I think of Hannah getting to shake hands with Taylor Swift, Sydney getting to hang with George Cloney, and now Alison, who apparently had a moment with the Biebs at a recent concert that her mom took her to. As he was on stage he locked eyes with her and then tossed her his water bottle. Unfortunately the moment didn’t last long. As the bottle was soaring towards her outstretched arms some other crazed and confused fan intercepted it from its intended recipient(Alison). As he grabbed the bottle the contents spilled all over Alison, ruining her makeup. So in honor of that “moment” we had Justin Bieber blasting on the studio speakers, backgrounds and lights set up and ready for a fun fierce shoot with her! She arrived at the studio ready for a session in which we wanted to capture some black and white images that showed her beauty AND her power and ferocity as a young woman. She wore a simple outfit with black jeans, a loose spaghetti strapped white shirt with a cool cut out geometric design on the front, paired with a leather jacket and open black high heels, a lace choker, and pearl earrings. She is tall, beautiful, and has an incredibly strong look to her.
We laughed, we played, and we captured. I am so excited that she is on our Senior Team this year and that she will get to create memories with her other friends on the team. This was our first shoot together and it won’t be our last. So, as you look forward to the weekend enjoy a few of these sneak peeks from Alison’s fierce shoot.
We’ve had a good streak of warmer weather lately and it seems as though spring may have arrived early. I met up with some of my 2018 Senior Team to do a shoot with Dryden Dress Co. featuring some prom gowns. We spent some time downtown and had a blast capturing this session with these girls.
If you haven’t gotten your prom dress yet, head on down to Dryden Dress Co. in Salisbury, Sarah and Julie will take great care of you and help you find your perfect dress. Happy Prom and enjoy the previews.
As another Thanksgiving has come I am so thankful for the amazing senior portrait clients that I have had this year. One of those seniors I am thankful for is Mackenzie. We had scheduled her portraits for a few weeks ago, you know when hurricane Matthew came into town. We captured some portraits in the studio and then rescheduled her outdoor session. We had an amazing fall day with beautiful light.
She was such a joy to photograph and is a true beauty, especially her eyes…they draw you right in and I am sure from these portrait peeks that you will see why. We captured a few of her at the track where she pole vaults for the Parkside Track and Field Team and a few on the soccer field before we headed downtown and then to Pemberton Park.
Thanks Mackenzie for trusting me to capture these. I hope you have recovered from the turkey and gravy induced coma from yesterday and that you had a great Thanksgiving with your friends and family. Enjoy the sneak peeks!
I think we finally have an idea of what it must be like to live in Seattle. Rain, rain, rain for the past few weeks. I had forgotten what sunshine looked liked. Needless to say, many of my sessions over the past few weeks have been rescheduled. I was set to do a session at the beach last night, but it was….wait for it……raining! So I met up with two of my senior model reps. for a quick session downtown under the cover of a parking garage. I had in mind to do a moody black and white session to convey just how much I have disliked the rain lately. I think we nailed it. I had so much working with these two beautiful girls last night and I am so thankful that they spent time hanging out with me to do this shoot last minute. Enjoy the portraits and I think I FINALLY see the sun.
The days are getting chillier, the sun is setting earlier, and the fall colors are bursting in the trees. I love this time of the year with colors unlike any other and soft warm light that contrasts with the colder weather. It was a day like that when I met up with several of my senior models from the Class of 2016 for a little fall session. We spent some time over at Winterplace Park here in Salisbury capturing these images. All of these girls are lovely and such a joy to work with and photograph. It’s hard to me to believe that we are halfway through their senior year already. We’ve got a lot more shoots to do before graduation, but this is one of my favorites so far with this group of girls. Enjoy the sneak peeks and have a great Thanksgiving!!!
Meet Jacob! He is an amazing young man who is a senior at Parkside High School. Go Rams! He is gifted with perfect hair and music and plays trombone in the marching, concert, and jazz ensembles at school. We spent a wonderful evening downtown and out at the Cove capturing his portraits. Enjoy the sneak peeks and have a great senior year Jacob!
Meet Cindy! AKA Cincin. I got to meet this lovely young lady for her portraits before the hurricane rolled into town. We spent a nice afternoon photographing out in Tyaskin and Bivalve on the Eastern Shore. We found a couple of places that I don’t normally photograph, but were excellent backdrops for her portraits. Cindy…I hope you have a great senior year; thanks for having me capture your portraits. Enjoy the sneak peeks!
