Meet Taylor! She is one of our senior model reps. for the Class of 2016. She is a senior at Bennett High School and is involved in a lot of things at school, like Rock and Roll Revival as well as volleyball. She is a sweetheart and has been fun to photograph so far this year. Back in January we did a session in the snow which you can check out here. We met up on a much warmer day the other day for her senior session. She wanted something different than what is “normally” done for senior portraits. So, I scouted out a few different locations like a cool overpass with the rusted fence, a rustic tower downtown, a beautiful field of rye, an abandoned parking lot, and under the bridge downtown. It was fun exploring these unusual locations and I think we captured some great portraits of this beautiful girl. Enjoy the sneak peeks!
Meet Nicole! She is one of our senior models for the Class of 2016. A few years back I had the privilege of meeting her and her family for her older sisters senior portraits. He sister, Chelsea, joined us for part of her shoot and it was great catching up during the session.
I am so excited to be working with Chole this year and getting to capture her portraits. Our first session was taken on a snowy day back in the winter, you can see pictures from that session here. Our last session was done downtown and on the beach near Salisbury on a much warmer day than that first session in the snow. We had a great night, got rained on for a few minutes, and even got a totally unexpected surprise while we were out at the Point(which I won’t mention here). Enjoy the sneak peeks!
Allow me to introduce one of my favorite wedding vendors in the Salisbury area. Meet Susan, the extraordinary owner and creative mind behind Cake Art in Salisbury, MD. I have had the privilege of photographing many weddings where she has provided the cake/cupcakes for the reception. Not only are the cakes beautiful and created with great care….they are super yummy. Her red velvet is one of my personal vices….with a cream cheese icing to die for.
While I was at her shop the other day capturing these images for the blog post I got the background story on her business. She is a graduate of culinary school, has worked in the food industry in several capacities for many years, but where her passion and true talent lies is in the creation of beautiful AND delicious works of art. She opened her shop 4 years ago and has been busy, busy, busy ever since. It’s easy to see why.
When you stop in at her shop in downtown Salisbury, your are immediately met with the sweet aroma of baking cakes. There’s always a wide selection of cup cakes for sale. You can get them to go or sit a spell and eat right there in the shop. When planning your wedding or event, she should be one of the first stops on your list. Tastings, lots and lots of photos of previous cakes, and her pleasant and professional demeanor make the choice of who will be doing your wedding cake an easy one.
Susan, also likes that challenge of the unusual cake. Her talents and creativity run far beyond what you may have in mind. Let her create something unique and you will be pleased with what she can do. She is a fondant wizard. Susan and her staff are friendly, personable, professional, and just a ton of fun to work with.
I have had the great privilege of working with Susan over the years. Recently she provided the cakes for a magazine photo shoot with Premier Bride Magazine. You can see some of those photos here. She is a true artist and professional and I am proud to feature her this month on our blog.
If you are recently engaged or in need of a cake for a special occasion stop in at her shop or give her a call, you will be elated with the results.
This past year of senior portraits with the Class of 2014 was amazing. I got to meet so many wonderful, talented, sweet, and beautiful seniors this year while creating their senior portraits. I like being able to take a look back on a successful senior portrait season, but also to begin looking ahead at the Class of 2015. Here is are a few of my favorites from from the Class of 2014 and I can’t wait to meet all of my seniors for the Class of 2015. I look forward to creating your portraits.
You already know Brittany. She is one of my beautiful Senior Model Reps. for the Class of 2014 at Bennett High School. We headed downtown a few nights ago and captured a few more images for her portfolio. She brought along her boyfriend, Brandon. I have had the pleasure of hearing Brandon perform at our annual Open Mic Night now for the past two years and he is amazing. The two of them together are super cute and an amazing singing duo. Check out some sneak peeks from our evening session in downtown Salisbury.
I had the privilege of meeting Michelle at a bridal show in St. Michaels at the beginning of the year. She is so sweet and we ended up chatting for quite a while that day. She proudly told be about her fiancé and her plans for her dream wedding. We talked again a few days later when she booked me as her photographer. I mean this when I say that it is an honor to be asked to be responsible for capturing a couple’s wedding day. Stephen and Michelle’s day was no different. I looked forward to their wedding day with excitement because of what I would get to capture but also the people that I would get to meet and interact with.
Michelle and Stephen had a small window to get married. With his deployments and his ranger training school appointment they had one weekend when most service men and women have a day to relax and be off duty, Memorial Day Weekend.
They were married before their family and friends in the beautiful bricked garden at the Tidewater Inn in downtown Easton, MD. It was a picturesque day, filled with laughter, emotions, and simple joy. Michelle and the Tidewater planned and pulled off an amazing affair. Patriotic red, white, and blue were everywhere to be seen. Their closest friends and military buddies were on hand for the ceremony, followed by dinner and a grand celebration in the main ballroom. One of the most interesting aspects of the day was the memorial table. A solitary table with no chair, a simple place setting, and a single red rose to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their friends and their country. Thank you Stephen and Michelle for your sacrifice and your service to our country.
Michelle looked stunning in her Michaela gown from the Dryden Dress Company in Salisbury, MD. The tables were set with centerpieces that Michelle had made from old records. The red, white, and blue wedding cakes from Julie’s Bakery in Easton were absolutely amazing. They partied the night away with Steve Moody who did an exceptional job with his DJ services. It truly was an honor to capture the day. Congrats to Michelle and Stephen. I am so happy for you and I cannot wait for your preview party so that you can relive your special day through the images that Amanda and I captured.
Enjoy the sneak peeks.
Folks that helped make Stephen and Michelle’s day absolutely beautiful:
Meet Patty. She is a senior in the Class of 2013 at WiHi. She is a cheerleader and aspires to be a nurse some day. We had a blast capturing her senior portraits; first in the studio then we headed downtown in Salisbury for her outdoor casual shots. What a fun day. Here are a few of her sneak peeks from her session yesterday. My favorite is the Greek goddess style portrait in an alleyway downtown. Beauty, grace, elegance, and a hint of grunge; I love it.
It was great to meet you and create your portraits. I hope you have a great senior year and a good season cheering for the bball team. Thanks for choosing me to capture your portraits. I had a blast. Enjoy the sneak peeks.
