I met up with my Senior Team at Assateague National Park for this shoot to celebrate Independence day. Beautiful day, the beach, fun, and friends, what else you could ask for. I am thankful for the freedoms that we have and for the simple pleasure of being with people and getting to capture moments and experiences with others. Enjoy your July 4th holiday.
Meet Emily! She is a senior in the Class of 2017 at Salisbury Christian School. She is a sweet soul that loves Jesus, horses, and her boyfriend too….sounds like a Tom Petty song. I’m dating myself with that reference, still a good song, just not known by this generation. Anyway, we got to spend some time together the other day for her senior portrait session.
One thing I love to do is spend time with my senior clients. This is a once in a lifetime experience that shouldn’t be skimped on in regards to time. I take pride in crafting an experience for my clients that includes things that are important to them and tell a story about who they are. Emily is one amazing young lady. She rides, plays soccer, is involved in Young Life and her church and is a great student from what I hear.
We spend some time photographing at some spots that hold special meaning for her. The railroad station is in their hometown, the barn where she rides, and Assateague(where she spends every spare moment). It was a great session and we were treated to one of the most amazing sunsets I have seen at Assateague to wrap up her session. This is another reason I don’t do mini sessions with my seniors, again it’s too important and you miss out on beautiful settings like this. Sorry for the novel, but I loved this session and I hope that you love the sneak peeks! Enjoy!
Meet Luke! I had the pleasure of meeting his older brother, Joey a couple of years back for his senior portraits. I was excited that this family had come back to me to create Luke’s portraits. Luke is an amazing young man. He plays multiple sports, aspires to be a doctor someday, and is part of a wonderful family. We started his portraits at the PHS baseball field, then did a few with his football gear(his the quarteback of the Ram’s football team), and then headed down to Assateague for what turned out to be a beautiful night at the beach. Enjoy the sneak peeks!
Meet Brooke! I had been looking forward to this session for several weeks. This girl is a ball of fun, energy, creativity, and such a joy to photograph. I put a few special touches into her session: like the hand-painted backdrop we used for some of the guitar portraits in the studio, the wall hanging I ordered from India a few weeks ago so that it would arrive in time for her portraits, and having her incorporating some of the journals where she writes her own music. We ended the evening on the beach at Assateague Island National Park with another spectacular sunset. This session and hanging out with Brooke made my week. Brooke, thanks for choosing me to create your portraits. I enjoyed meeting you, getting to know you a bit, and capturing your joy and gorgeousness(is that even a word?). I hope you love these sneak peeks, many more to see when you come in for your viewing appointment. See you soon at Open Mic Night and of course Rock and Roll Revival. Have a great senior year!
Meet Gabby! I had the privilege of capturing her senior portraits last week. It is always humbling and exciting when a client comes from fairly far away to have my create their portraits. Gabby and her family drove 5hrs from Virginia to spend the afternoon/evening with me down at Assateague Island for her session.
She is a gorgeous, intelligent, and confident young lady full of laughter and poise. It was a great pleasure being with her and getting to create these portraits. As you can see she plays soccer and is a natural in front of the camera. I wish her the best in her senior year and in her desire to play D3 soccer in college next year. I can’t wait to see where this girl will go. Thanks Gabby for trusting me with your portraits and it was awesome meeting you. Have a great senior year!
Meet Danielle! She is one of our model reps. for the studio this year from the Class of 2016 at Parkside High School. Go RAMS! I love when I get to photograph a strong, beautiful, confident athlete. There is such a combination of strength and beauty in this girl that I hope is evident from what we captured. I watched her play tennis this past spring and I wouldn’t want to face her on the court, she is intense and very good at the game. Yet, she is also super sweet and kind and was a great joy to photograph on the court and down at Assateague. We had a beautiful night doing her portraits and great conversation. Her mom and big Sis came along to get in a few. Oh…and how can i forget their adorable pug/mutt, Russell, he was my buddy for the afternoon. Thanks, Danielle for trusting me to capture these and for getting to spend a great evening with you and your family. Enjoy the sneak peeks!
